Cambodia will make its Eurovision debut in the inaugural Asian edition of the competition, with TV5 Cambodia confirmed as the country's participating broadcaster.
Cambodia is among the ten countries confirmed to participate in the first-ever Eurovision Song Contest Asia, following the official announcement by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and its partners on 31 March 2026.
The announcement marks a new chapter for Cambodian music, giving the country's artists an opportunity to showcase their musical identity on an international television stage.
TV5 Cambodia has been confirmed as the country's participating broadcaster, joining nine other broadcasters from across Asia in the competition's inaugural edition.
Cambodia joins a historic Asian Eurovision line-up
The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia will bring together ten countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
The competition is being developed by the EBU in partnership with Voxovation, S2O Productions and Thailand's Channel 3, which will serve as the host broadcaster.
Bangkok has been selected as the host city, with the Grand Final scheduled for Saturday, 14 November 2026.
According to the organisers, the new competition aims to build on Eurovision's seven-decade legacy while reflecting the cultural diversity, musical traditions and contemporary creativity of Asia.
TV5 Cambodia to select the country's first representative
As part of the announced format, each participating broadcaster is expected to select its country's representative through a national selection process in the months leading up to the Grand Final.
For Cambodia, this will be the first opportunity to select an artist to represent the country in the Eurovision format.
Further details regarding TV5 Cambodia's selection process, potential participating artists and the eventual Cambodian entry were not included in the initial announcement.
The country's participation nevertheless places Cambodian music alongside some of Asia's largest entertainment markets, creating an opportunity for local performers to reach audiences well beyond the country's borders.
A new international platform for Cambodian music
Cambodia has a distinctive musical landscape, combining traditional Khmer musical influences with contemporary pop, rock and other international genres.
Its participation in Eurovision Song Contest Asia could provide a valuable platform for introducing this musical diversity to a wider regional and international audience.
With the inaugural competition approaching in November, attention will now turn to TV5 Cambodia and the process through which the country will choose its first Eurovision Asia representative.
Cambodia is officially on the Eurovision map. The journey to Bangkok has begun.
